A Diamond in the Ruff Independent Living Transitional housing services for to up 36-months. Our focus is single women and single women household families, mostly of color, from all walks of life in Alameda County that have been dis-placed and are experiencing extreme poverty, and/or homelessness, those in need emergency housing. Helping individuals maintain some level of self-sufficiency.
Are target population are women ages 24-60 who are homeless, victims of domestic violence, those recovering from drugs/alcohol, those coming out of incarceration, and those who may be suffering from mental health.
The geographic area is Alameda County and other nearby counties; which include (East Oakland, West Oakland, North Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond and other Contra Costa Cities).
A Diamond in the Ruff core program was created to provide interactive workshops, educational seminars and coaching with the goals of developing insight and providing practical applications to recognize and remove barriers created by trauma. This includes teaching women how to connect with their core, to learn and know their purpose and finding their pathway towards a healthier and more stable lifestyle.
A Diamond in the Ruff has established partnerships with many community partners to help ensure that the full range of our client's needs are met. The partnerships are invaluable because we (all) work together to help improve the critical impact of Trauma within individuals, families and communities.
